Hello Fairgrieve Families

Dear Fairgrieve Families,

February is already here! It is hard to believe there are 18 weeks left of the school year. With that said, February may be the shortest month however it is a busy time of the year here at Fairgrieve Elementary.

What is coming up at Fairgrieve Elementary...
  • Change for Hope Campaign Fundraise (2/2-2/27): Fairgrieve Elementary has partnered with Griffin’s Guardians, a local nonprofit organization based in Cicero, NY, to support families battling pediatric cancer. More information below.
  • Black History Month: We will be celebrating and raising awareness of the achievements and history of Black Americans through special projects.
  • Kindness Week (Feb. 16-22): Although this week falls during our winter break, we encourage students to participate in "Random Acts of Kindness" challenges to help strengthen our school community.
  • Valentine’s Day/Friendship Parties: Please watch for specific communication from your child's classroom regarding the Valentine's Day festivities.
  • School Closure: Please note that all school facilities will be closed on Monday, February 16th for President's Day, which occurs during our winter break (2/16- 2/20). School resumes on Monday, 2/23/2026.
  • Re-establishing Fairgrieve PTO: Be on the lookout for information regarding the FGE Parent-Teacher Organization this month.

School-Wide Wellness
As the winter season peaks, I kindly ask that you ensure your child is dressed warmly for outdoor recess. Your continued commitment to our health protocols is vital; please keep children who are feeling unwell home to maintain a healthy and vibrant learning environment for all.

Mid-Year Momentum
It is your unwavering partnership that strengthens the Fairgrieve school community. February marks an excellent opportunity to reflect on your child’s progress and discuss their “mid-year” goals. From mastering new concepts, improving their literacy skills, to building social connections; our Fairgrieve staff is dedicated to supporting your child in every step of their educational journey.

Thank you for your dedication and continued support to Fairgrieve Elementary School!

Character Trait of the Month: Integrity

We will help our dragons to soar with a focus on Integrity! Students can demonstrate this trait by being honest and doing the right thing even if it may be a challenge to do so or when no one is “looking”.

Students who are 'Integrity' role models, are those who...
  • Keep promises
  • Stand up for others
  • Return items that you found that don't belong to you
  • Own your actions
  • Admit mistakes

Outdoor Recess & Winter Weather

Our children thrive on exercise, fresh air and sunshine (when we have it). A long as our child watch calculator says it's warm enough to go out- we're headed outside to play!

Please be sure your child has a winter coat, boots, hat and gloves. If they wish to play in the snow, snow snow pants are required.

Need help getting warm winter attire for your child? Please email our Home-School Liaison, Ms. Murphy @ jmurphy3@fulton.cnyric.org or call the FGE Main Office @ 315-593-5550. We are happy to help!
