Dear Granby Families,
Hard to believe we’re already turning the page to February. While it’s the shortest month of the year, it is always one of our busiest and most heart-warming stretches at Granby Elementary.
This month, our hallways will be filled with the spirit of kindness and a deep dive into the stories that shape our world. Here is a look at what’s coming up:
-
Black History Month: We are excited to celebrate and bring awareness to the achievements and history of Black Americans through special projects
-
Kindness Week (Feb. 16-22): Even though Kindness Week falls during our winter break, students will participate in "Random Acts of Kindness" challenges to help strengthen our school community.
-
Valentine’s Day/Friendship Parties: Keep an eye out for specific classroom communications regarding Valentine's Day festivities.
-
President’s Day is Monday, February 16th, which falls during our winter break. All school facilities will be closed.
A Note on Wellness
As we navigate the peak of the winter season, please remember to keep your students bundled up for outdoor recess. If your child is feeling under the weather, we appreciate you following our health protocols to keep our classrooms healthy and vibrant.
Principal’s Message
February is a great time to check in with your child about their "mid-year" goals. Whether it’s mastering a new math concept or making a new friend, we are here to support every step of their journey. Your partnership is what makes this school a true community.
Thank you for your continued support, and let’s make it a fantastic month!
With Kindness,
Gina
