“Niki is my sister (in law). I see her inside & outside of school and know that her character in every setting reflects and encompasses a school champion. Niki works in a classroom and encourages her students to be their best selves every day. She supports students inside and outside of her room and would do anything for a child needing support. Sometimes Niki is exhausted at the end of the day but she continues to show up no matter what happened the day before. You can always count on her. Niki has many nieces and nephews at Volney and they look up to Aunt Niki every day as they see her being a great example of what a school champion is. She is an excellent role model for them inside and outside of school. What makes Niki the greatest school champion is she is this excellent example for not only her family but every child that is put in her path. She is a leader, she is a teammate, she is a cheerleader, she is everything that embodies being respectful, responsible and safe. I am so proud to be Niki’s sister and am so grateful that not only my son has a person like Aunt Niki at school but all of his classmates and other students get to have her as a great example of a school champion...”

“By definition of role, Dr. Clawson is the school psychologist at Lanigan Elementary School, but in layman’s terms he is a counselor, teacher, mentor, advocate, community member, kid-at-heart, superhero, support person, and friend to so many. Dr. Clawson has supported our daughter through some of her toughest moments, listened as she’s shared her worries and thoughts, hugged away her tears, offered a hand of support to her parents, coached his teammates and colleagues through trying times, and tirelessly worked to do what’s best for all students at Fulton City School District. Dr. Clawson has been an unbiased ear, a sound reason, and a source of inspiration! He instills joy, promotes safety, protects dignity, and encourages growth! A true champion for students, staff, parents, and Fulton City Schools! No words, nomination, or thank you could ever be enough to express the heartfelt appreciation we feel for the role models we have shaping minds and futures at Fulton City Schools like Dr. Clawson!”
