A Year's Worth of Achievements

As we approach the end of the school year, the Fulton City School District is excited to celebrate the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students through a variety of academic recognitions and awards ceremonies across all grade levels.

Throughout the coming weeks, students will be recognized for achievements including Honor Roll and High Honor Roll distinctions, Presidential Academic Awards during moving up ceremonies, and academic excellence celebrations such as the High Honors Banquet at the high school.

In addition, graduating seniors will be recognized for earning scholarships, departmental and community awards, and distinctions such as the New York State Seal of Civic Readiness at graduation. We are proud of the dedication our students have shown throughout the year and look forward to celebrating their success with families, staff, and the community.

GRB students win big at Envirothon

G. Ray Bodley High School’s Envirothon team recently earned first place in the Oswego County competition held on May 6, their first championship since 2012.

Students competed in five rigorous categories that included written exams and a group presentation focused on current environmental issues. This achievement reflects the students’ hard work, dedication, and extensive knowledge across a wide range of environmental topics.

Led by co-advisors Dan Mainville and Ryan Brown, the team then went on to represent Oswego County at the state competition at SUNY Cortland. Congrats, all!

Friendly competition at United Basketball game

GRB's annual Unified Basketball game brought students with and without disabilities together for a fun-filled afternoon of sportsmanship and community. Thanks to our friends from ESM for joining us!

Students give back through Synergy Program

Throughout the month, Fulton students once again rallied together to build their local community. Through the City and School Synergy program, students worked with staff and local community leaders to clean up key parks throughout the city. This year, current sophomores returned to North Bay Campgrounds for their third year, while freshman students took on Canal Park for the second time. Eighth graders began their own cleanup at Recreation Park, where they will continue to give back until graduation. Thanks to all the staff, students and community volunteers who help to make this great work happen each year!

FCSD SOARS

This year, FCSD students and staff will work together to SOAR in the classroom and beyond. Our Red Dragons will be able to show:

  • SELF CONTROL: Red Dragons show self-control by making thoughtful choices -- even when it’s hard. Whether it’s staying calm during a disagreement or waiting their turn, Fulton students rise above challenges with focus and maturity.

  • ON-TASK BEHAVIOR: Fulton Red Dragons stay on-task by staying focused and giving their best effort during learning time. They avoid distractions, follow directions, and keep their minds set on reaching their goals—showing the true determination of a Red Dragon.

  • ACHIEVEMENT: Achievement for a Red Dragon means setting goals and working hard to reach them. Whether it's mastering a new math skill or helping a classmate, Fulton students celebrate progress and push themselves to be their best.

  • RESPECT: Red Dragons lead with respect by treating everyone—classmates, teachers, and themselves—with kindness and dignity. In the Fulton City School District, respect fuels a positive, inclusive environment where all can thrive.
