Important Changes to the FCSD Schedule

Don't forget! Recent changes to the district calendar were approved by the Board of Education. Because we did not need to use all of our emergency closing days this year, we are able to add a few extra days off around Memorial Day weekend. As a result:

  • There will be no school on Friday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 26.
  • All FCSD buildings will be closed from Friday, May 22 through Tuesday, May 26. School will resume on Wednesday, May 27.
Additionally, looking ahead to the end of the school year:

  • June 22–25 will be half days for students in grades PK–8. High school students will attend based on their exam schedules (morning and/or afternoon sessions as needed).
  • Friday, June 26 will be a staff-only day, with no school for students.
These changes have already been made to the district calendar found at FultonCSD.org/calendar. We hope this added time provides families with an opportunity to relax and enjoy the long weekend together! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,

Doug Lawrence
FCSD District Superintendent

FCSD SOARS

This year, FCSD students and staff will work together to SOAR in the classroom and beyond. Our Red Dragons will be able to show:

  • SELF CONTROL: Red Dragons show self-control by making thoughtful choices -- even when it’s hard. Whether it’s staying calm during a disagreement or waiting their turn, Fulton students rise above challenges with focus and maturity.

  • ON-TASK BEHAVIOR: Fulton Red Dragons stay on-task by staying focused and giving their best effort during learning time. They avoid distractions, follow directions, and keep their minds set on reaching their goals—showing the true determination of a Red Dragon.

  • ACHIEVEMENT: Achievement for a Red Dragon means setting goals and working hard to reach them. Whether it's mastering a new math skill or helping a classmate, Fulton students celebrate progress and push themselves to be their best.

  • RESPECT: Red Dragons lead with respect by treating everyone—classmates, teachers, and themselves—with kindness and dignity. In the Fulton City School District, respect fuels a positive, inclusive environment where all can thrive.
