February 12, 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians,
With the closure on Monday, February 10, we have now used all five emergency closure days for the 2024-25 school year. Since we may face more potentially hazardous weather in the coming weeks, we want to ensure families are prepared in case additional closures are necessary. Based on feedback, many prefer remote learning rather than taking days from spring break, as it allows students to continue their education without disrupting family plans.
Virtual Superintendent’s Conference Day – If another closure occurs before the February break, it will be a virtual Superintendent’s Conference Day for staff. Students will not have school on this day.
March 10 Change – Originally scheduled as a Superintendent’s Conference Day, March 10 will now be a regular in-person instructional day for students and staff.
Remote Learning After February Break – If additional emergency closures happen after the February break, students will participate in remote learning on those days, following an abbreviated schedule.
Chromebooks Going Home Daily – To prepare, all students will bring their Chromebooks to and from home each day after the February break until further notice. Chargers will not be sent home. Keep all materials in your child’s backpack unless a remote learning day is announced in the morning.
June 27 Change – Originally scheduled as a Superintendent’s Conference Day, June 27 will now be a half-day for PreK-12 students.
Remote Learning Expectations
On remote learning days, the school day will begin with an abbreviated schedule. Start times are listed below:
Grades 7-12: 9:35 AM
Grades PK-6: 10:35 AM
Instruction will be delivered by our instructional staff online. Students will follow the delayed schedule, logging into their classes at the designated times. Teachers will share schedules, meeting links, and technical instructions.
Attendance & Participation:
Students are expected to attend live instruction and complete assignments during remote learning days.
Attendance will be taken and students must log in using their Fulton Google account.
If a student is unable to attend due to illness or other reasons, parents should follow regular absence reporting procedures.
Athletics/Extracurricular Activities
Since this represents an emergency closure any athletics or other extracurricular activities will be cancelled for the day.
A follow-up letter with more details will come from your child’s teacher(s) after the February break. This will address off-site programs as well. Thank you for your support and flexibility as we navigate the winter season together.
Sincerely,
Brian T. Pulvino
